1. Milk Bingsu
4 Cups of whole milk + 1/4 cup of condensed milk
This is a base for all other Bingsu. Rather than using ice made with water, ice with whole milk has much richer and creamier flavor. On top of this base, you can add any toppings.
2. Red Bean Bingsu (Patbingsu)
Milk Bingsu + add 1/2 cup of sweet red bean paste (mix with boiled red bean & sugar 1:1 ratio)
This is traditional original Korean Bingsu and this can be served with other toppings – nuts, rice cake or any other fruits.
3. Fruit Bingsu
Milk Bingsu + Sweet Red bean paste (optional) + lots of fruits + adding fruit syrup or ice cream on top
The popular fruit options are mango, strawberry, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, blueberry, etc.
4. Various powder toppings
Milk Bingsu + powder (green tea powder, black sesame, cocoa powder, soybean powder, etc)
Simply adding these powders to the milk Bingsu will create another level of shaved ice flavors. Examples are green tea power will make green tea bingsu. Recently, black sesame bingsu is very popular. These also can mix with other toppings – rice cake, ice cream, nuts and any other fruits.
